I'm the creative visionary behind Sophisticated Grace Studio
Hey there!
I'm Ellie
What Is a Showit Design Day and Is It Right for You?
A Showit design day is also referred to as a VIP day or design intensive by other designers who offer the service. It’s perfect for businesses that have a growing list of updates they need made to their website, only need one landing page designed, and added to their website, or other tasks that can be tackled within 4 or 8 hours. It’s not an entire website being designed in a day, although that is a service some Showit designers do offer.
The Format
When you book a Showit Design Day with Sophisticated Grace Studio, whether it’s a half day or a full day, you are booking a designated block of time that is reserved for you and you alone. Before we get started, you’ll send me a prioritized list of what you want completed and any content or information I need to make it happen. During your design day, I knock it all out and before the day is over, you review it and approve it before anything is published.
Half Day – $875
Four hours of designated time in my schedule solely for your business.
Full Day – $1,750
Eight hours of designated time in my schedule solely for your business’ Showit website.
I’ll cover further in the post when a half day vs a full day Showit design day is best.
Why This Service Exists
Rather than charge a monthly retainer for clients on the off chance that they might need updates to their website or quote an entirely new project for a bunch of tasks that can easily be accomplished within 4-8 hours, I decided offering a Showit design day was the right move for my studio. Clients aren’t locked into a monthly retainer but can still utilize my experience and expertise to handle the one-off tasks that need to be completed on their website when they need it.
When to Book a Half Day vs a Full Day Showit Design Day
A half day Showit design day is best for tasks like these:
- Build or rebuild one substantial page, such as redesigning your existing services page or designing a landing page for a new offer
- Fix mobile views across an existing website
- Set up a lead magnet, delivery page, and thank you page
- Restructuring your navigation and cleaning up internal links
- Compressing and replacing images across the website to improve the speed of your website
A full day Showit design day is best for tasks like these:
- Set up and customize an add-on Showit template (not a complete Template Customization, just for add-on templates such as standalone pages for client guides, landing pages, lead offers, etc)
- Build or rebuild one 2-3 pages
- Updating the copy across the entire website
What a Showit Design Day is not the right fit for:
- Customizing more than one page of a Showit template. Instead, book a Showit Template Customization service.
- Writing your copy or working on pricing/offers. A Showit Design Day is designed to implement changes you have already fleshed out and need updated, not helping you draft the content or strategy.
- A full website design.
What Makes a Showit Design Day Successful
A successful Showit design day boils down to one key factor: how prepared you are before the design day. You should have your list prioritized, final copy and images ready and delivered to me before the day begins, and decisions already made. A design day isn’t going to be successful without preparation. I’d rather reschedule your design day for when you have everything prepared and ready to go instead of getting started and then have to pivot because of waiting on content or multiple design changes.
How to Book a Showit Design Day
Design days are limited to a set number of days each month, since I don’t take on any other client work during that day. To simplify the process, I have a designated booking page solely for my Showit Design Days that will let you instantly book a full day or half day option on one of my available days. A design day questionnaire and a shared folder for you to deliver your content will automatically be sent to your email after booking. At the end of the design day, we’ll hop on a Google Meet and review the work that was completed for you to approve before I hit publish.
- Book your design day from my available Design Day calendar
- Respond to the design day questionnaire and deliver content at least 3 business days before your booked design day
- Be available for a Google Meet at the end of the booked design day to approve everything
